When Keilyn Williamson turned in his assignment for his Mass Media class at Malone University -- he didn't even know about reelate.org. The assignment asked student to collect a story from someone at least seven years older than they were and to focus on how media had impacted that person's life.

Keilyn decided to profile Ron after talking with Laurie Moline of the United Way Get Connected program. Laurie mentors many young adults in the area. When Keilyn described his class project, she suggested Ron might be a great subject. She helped Keilyn connect with Ron and accompanied him on the interview. Laurie says one of the most critical parts of her mentoring work is helping students build relationships and connections with other people in our community.

As you already know, Ron's a natural storyteller, but Keilyn's impressive visual storytelling sensibilities made this story a natural fit for reelate.org. His professor (the author of this blog post) asked right away if the story could be added to our archive.

In the story Ron talks about the inspiration he received to make media that would create a positive change in society. Ron's work in Stark County hasn't been limited to his work on WHBC. He has worked tirelessly to make this community a better place through many different initiatives
